Brunswick County Beekeepers

Support the Brunswick County Beekeepers Association:

  • Purchase honey produced by a member of the Brunswick County Beekeepers Association
  • Don’t kill bees! Pesticides and sprays are a deterrent for honey bees.
  • Attend a meeting of the Brunswick County Beekeepers: The Brunswick County Beekeepers Association meets the first Thursday of each month (no July meeting) at 7 p.m. in the Educational Training Center of the Cooperative Extension Service, 25 Referendum Drive (Building N) at the Brunswick County Government Center in Bolivia, North Carolina.

  6. I’m looking for information (links/documents) about maintaining Honey Bee Hives on Real Property in Brunswick County.

According to Helen Evans Bunch, CZO, Zoning Administrator, Brunswick County Planning & Community Development

“Honey bee hives are only allowed as part of a Bona Fide Farm. See Article 12 of the Brunswick County Unified Development Ordinance for the definition of a bona fide farm.” She would not clarify, I did find the Brunswick UDO and article 12 definition of a Bona Fide Farm.

It sounds like as a hobby bee keeper, you cannot own a hive in Brunswick County.

    Is that true?

What are the Brunswick County Bee Keepers regulations?
